UP Authorities Demolish Self-styled Godman Changur Baba's House

The demolition of Changur Baba's residence resumed in Utraula, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday. The operation had been paused at 5 pm the previous day. Six bulldozers are currently involved in dismantling the structure. On Tuesday, authorities managed to demolish about half of the illegal construction.

Changur Baba, whose real name is Jalaluddin, saw his extensive mansion demolished by authorities on Tuesday. The residence was reportedly built illegally on government land. This action follows his arrest for allegedly orchestrating a large-scale religious conversion racket and amassing significant wealth through foreign funding.

Demolition of Changur Baba's Mansion

In addition to the mansion, a hospital linked to Changur Baba's followers is also under investigation. This facility is suspected of being involved in the controversial activities associated with the faith healer. Authorities are scrutinising its role in these operations.

Changur Baba was apprehended by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on July 5. Known by several aliases such as Jamaluddin and Karimullah Shah, he operated from Madhpur for many years. His arrest has brought attention to his alleged illegal activities and network.

Arrest of Associates

Naveen and Neetu Rohra, a couple from Mumbai and close associates of Changur Baba, were also detained. After converting to Islam, they adopted the names Kalimuddin and Nasreen. They are believed to have played a significant role in establishing the hospital in Utraula and were active participants in the conversion network.

The couple's daughter was reportedly converted as well and given the name Sabiha. Their involvement highlights the extent of Changur Baba's influence and operations across different regions.
