UP assembly polls: 'Dadri incident will not have negative impact': Gangwar
Coimbatore,Jan 22: The Dadri lynching incident over beef consumption rumous would not have a negative impact on BJP in the 2017 assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, Union Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar said here on Thursday.
Asked by reporters here whether the incident could have a negative impact on the party, he said "no problem... nothing will happen like that. The mood of the people of Uttar Pradesh is in favour of BJP. They will install a BJP government."

Iqlakh was beaten to death and his 22-year-old son Danish was critically injured by a mob which had barged into their house in September 31 last year following rumours that the family had consumed beef. Cow slaughter is banned in Uttar Pradesh.
The Union Textiles Minister said the party's strategy for the polls would be decided by the new BJP state president, elections for which would be held soon.
He was replying to a question on the party's strategy in view of reports that there would be a 'Bihar like' mega alliance in UP. The minister was here to participate in various functions.
