The session concluded with a rare 24-hour marathon debate on Uttar Pradesh's Vision 2047 document. This discussion aimed to align the state's long-term roadmap with India's development goals for 2047. The assembly's efforts in this session were seen as a positive sign for democracy by effectively utilising over 31 hours of working time.
Mahana remarked that despite its brevity, the monsoon session was highly productive. Only 43 minutes were lost to adjournments during the entire session. He believes this effective use of time is beneficial for democracy. The speaker also mentioned that efforts are ongoing to introduce innovations in every session regarding traditions, conduct, and procedures.
The latest assembly session took place last week in Lucknow. It highlighted how both sides of the house could express their views freely during discussions. Mahana described this openness as a testament to democracy's true beauty. The changes implemented under new rules have made departments more accountable and active.
