'Missing Mulayam' posters: 4 BJP workers arrested in UP, booked for defamation
Azamgarh, Dec 29: Posters of Samajwadi Party supremo and local MP Mulayam Singh Yadav, describing him as "missing", were put up by suspected BJP activists here, following which police today arrested four saffron party workers.
Local police said that four BJP workers were arrested while putting up Mulayam Singh Yadav's posters describing him as "missing" this morning. The BJP workers said that after being elected as the local MP in May this year, Yadav has not visited Azamgarh.
"Four persons have been arrested based on a complaint filed by a local resident Sufiyan and action is being taken against them. A case has been slapped against an unidentified printing press where the posters were printed," said S.D.Dwivedi, inspector, Kotwali.

According to reports, State BJP unit had put up posters against Azamgarh MP Mulayam Singh Yadav for not visiting his constituency even once since he was elected in the Lok Sabha election.
The posters say that Mulayam Singh is 'missing' and those who will bring him up to his constituency will be rewarded. Taking swipe at SP chief, posters write,"Azamgarh ki janata kare pukar, khojo Mulayam pao inam", "Azamgarh ne kiya elaan, khojo Saansad, pao inaam".
Mulayam Singh was elected from both the seats he had contested- Mainpuri and Azamgarh in the Parliamentary election. 'Maulana' Mulayam finally left traditional Mainpuri to Azamgarh.
Apparently, disgruntled with Mulayam Singh who had called Prime Minister Narendra Modi an outsider during Lok Sabha election, BJP is now in mood to settle the score.
Asserting that Modi has visited Varanasi not once but thrice since he was elected, the BJP workers are putting onus on Mulayam for missing in action.
Reportedly, the whole campaign is being managed by BJP's minority wing. It is being believed that Saffron party is trying to gain ground before the State election in 2017. And for that the party is making all out strategy on how to make inroads into Muslim votebank, which has been loyal to SP Government in the Uttar Pradesh.
