UP: 17-year-old allegedly gang-raped at gunpoint

A 17-year-old was allegedly gang-raped at gunpoint in a field in Hamirpur's Majhgaon in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

The incident allegedly took place when the victim had gone to relieve herself in the fields when a group of men attacked and raped her.

Following the incident, the matter was registered at Majhgaon police station. Taking the cognizance of the complaint, the police launched an intense investigation into the case and nabbed the accused.

A case registered under section 376 D(gang rape) of IPC and is investigating the matter. Meanwhile, the accused has been arrested in this regard, while a case has been registered at Majhgaon police station.

The tragic incident from Uttar Pradesh come to light just a few hours after a woman was sexually harassed by a man in New Delhi's Connaught Place.
