Union Ministers Rajnath, Jaitley feature in rape-accused Asaram's magazine 'Rishi Prasad'

New Delhi, Feb 25: It looks like bad days which started with Delhi Assembly election where Saffron party was routed by rookie Aam Aadmi Party are yet not over for Modi Government.

At a time when BJP government is trying its best to assuage Opposition on Land acquisition Bill, this news will give later a chance to up the ante on Modi Government.

Reportedly, rape accused Asaram's magazine has featured two Union Ministers-Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh on its front page. The mouthpiece of the self declared saint Asaram has also included their articles in it. Both the Ministers have been termed 'karamyogi' on the cover page of the latest issue of magazine 'Rishi Prasad'.

According to a report in Mid-day, while the home Minister Rajnath Singh praised Asaram for celebrating ‘Mata Pita Pujan Divas' on Valentine's Day in the mouthpiece, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley spoke about how media trials put undue pressure on the courts.

"It gave me immense pleasure when I realised that revered saint Asaramji Bapu is the inspiration behind celebrating February 14 as Father-Mother day. Through this, good values will surely be developed in children," Home Minister writes.

72-year-old Asaram who is currently lodged in Jodhpur jail was arrested after a 16-year-old girl lodged a police complaint on August 20, 2013, accusing him of sexually assaulting her at his ashram there. Arrested in September last year, Asaram is being tried under the provision of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). Recently, the self-styled godman Asaram was rejected bail by the Supreme Court.
