Uttarakhand News: Union Budget 2026-27 to Give New Direction to Development of Country and States: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami lauds Union Budget 2026-27 for its development focus, highlighting benefits for farmers, women, youth, MSMEs, and sustainable tourism. The budget prioritises infrastructure, education, healthcare, and digital tech, with a strong emphasis on mountain states and environmental protection.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday welcomed theUnion Budget 2026-27, stating that it will provide a new direction to thedevelopment of both the country and the states while expanding opportunitiesfor all sections of society.

The Chief Minister congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UnionFinance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting what he described as adevelopment-oriented and inclusive budget. He said the budget focuses onaccelerating economic growth, fulfilling the aspirations of the people, andensuring inclusive development.

CM Dhami noted that the budget gives special attention to farmers, women,underprivileged sections, youth, small entrepreneurs, and marginalizedcommunities. He said significant provisions have been made for employmentgeneration, education, healthcare, tourism, skill development, women'sempowerment, industry, and infrastructure. "These initiatives will benefit the entire country as well as Uttarakhand,and will create more employment opportunities for local youth," he said.

The Chief Minister highlighted the budget's proposal to develop eco-friendlymountain trails in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir,calling it a major boost for sustainable tourism in hilly states.

Speaking specifically about Uttarakhand, CM Dhami said the budget's strongfocus on tourism and infrastructure is crucial for the state's development.He added that provisions for farmers, animal husbandry, high-valueagriculture, tourism, and MSMEs will strengthen the rural and hill economyof the state. He further stated that increased investments in environmental protection,energy security, digital technology, and the biopharma sector will ensurelong-term benefits for both Uttarakhand and the country.

The Chief Minister said the budget reflects the vision of "Sabka Saath,Sabka Vikas" and the goal of building an Atmanirbhar Bharat. He assured thatthe Uttarakhand government will work closely with the Centre to effectivelyimplement the schemes and provisions announced in the budget. "This budget will not only strengthen the nation's economic capacity butwill also ensure equal development opportunities for hill states likeUttarakhand," CM Dhami added.
