Unfortunate: Irani woman sentenced to death for killing alleged rapist

The official state news agency reports that Reyhaneh Jabbari was hanged at dawn on Saturday for premeditated murder. The state, rejecting the woman's claims of attempted rape, said that she she had plotted the murder of Morteza Abdolali Sarbandi, a former intelligence agent. And that she had bought the knife just 2 days earlier.
The execution was carried out as Sarbandi's family refused to pardon her or accept blood money. It is said that Amnesty International and other human rights groups had called on Iran to stop the execution.
