Under-construction road collapses in Delhi, 2 injured

New Delhi, Feb 12: Traffic came to a grinding halt in Pitampura when an under-construction road collapsed partially. Traffic in the Outer Ring Road came to a standstill too. According to media reporters, some commuters were injured while at least 2 cars came under the debris. The traffic police conformed about the incident from its Facebook account, but refrained from giving details about the injured and the casualties.

The incident took place between the Madhuban Chowk and Mangolpuri. Therefore the traffic was diverted at the Peeragarhi Chowk. This caused a lot of difficulty for students, office goers and businessmen who commute through this section of the city. To add to their woes, traffic conditions worsened because of a political gathering at the DND Flyway, creating problems for the commuters.

There was a 2-km traffic snarl on Delhi-Noida side of the expressway as SP members of the Gautam Budh Nagar unit Rakesh Yadav welcomed their leader. The DND toll plaza had also malfunctioned, which led to further delay in the passage of vehicles.
