Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Unveils Mascot, Logo, and Anthem for 38th National Games
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami unveiled the mascot, logo, jersey, torch, anthem, and tagline for the 38th National Games. These games are scheduled to take place in the state from January 28 to February 14, 2025. The launch event was held at Maharana Pratap Sports College in Raipur.

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president, PT Usha, announced that yoga and mallakhamb will be included as demonstration sports in the National Games. During his speech, Dhami expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allowing Uttarakhand to host the event.
National Games Mascot and Logo
The mascot for the National Games is the Himalayan Monal, which is also Uttarakhand's state bird. This mascot symbolises the state's uniqueness and motivates young athletes to aim high. The logo, inspired by the Monal, showcases Uttarakhand's natural beauty and diversity across India.
Dhami highlighted that the anthem of the National Games not only represents unity but also encourages athletes to strive for excellence. He noted that the torch of the games has been lit and will travel throughout Uttarakhand as a symbol of unity and collective effort.
Infrastructure Development
The state government has allocated approximately Rs 500 crore for infrastructure development related to the event. This includes constructing new sports grounds, renovating stadiums and swimming pools, and developing facilities for water sports, cycling tracks, and shooting ranges.
Additionally, small sports stadiums are being built in hilly areas to provide local athletes with opportunities to showcase their talents. Dhami stated that these efforts are part of a broader initiative to promote sports culture in society.
Sports Initiatives
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, innovative measures have been taken to position India as a sports superpower. Initiatives like Fit India and Khelo India Yojana have contributed to building a robust sports ecosystem.
The state government is committed to encouraging sports and supporting athletes. A new sports policy has been implemented to offer government jobs to athletes who win medals at national and international levels.
Dhami assured that Uttarakhand is fully prepared to host the National Games successfully. He emphasised that achieving any goal requires determination and collective effort.
