UK PM Rishi Sunak Walks Barefoot In Akshardham Temple
Amid the G20 Summit, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak accompanied by his wife Akshata Murty paid a visit to the Akshardham in the national capital on Sunday.

The couple offered prayers and spent an hour at the temple. Interestingly, Sunak went barefoot inside the temple which is commonly followed by Hindus while visiting a temple.
The director of the Akshardham temple was quoted saying that the UK Prime Ministercalled him to ask for a suitable time to visit the temple. He further said that Sunak and his wife offered prayers, performed aarti, offered flowers to all the idols in the temple and met saints here.
According to the director of the temple, Sunak assured to visit the temple whenever he would get an opportunity. The temple authorities also gifted him with a model of the temple.
The security arrangement outside the Akshardham Temple were tightened during the UK Prime Minister's visit.
According to a senior police officer, pickets have been put in place in the area. A routine check-up is already underway in the city due to the ongoing G20 Summit.
Sunak and his wife were greeted with a warm welcome by Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey. The couple was even gifted with Rudraksh beads, a copy of the Bhagavad Geeta, and a Hanuman Chalisa as a gesture of love.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Sunak on the sidelines of the G20 Summit on Saturday and had a conversation to deepen trade linkages and boost investment.
