UGC NET Exam Cancelled Over Paper Leak Allegations: Priyanka Gandhi Slams Modi Govt, Calls It 'LeakTantra'
Minutes after the Ministry of Education announced the cancellation of the UGC NET exam, held on June 18, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi came out all guns blazing at the Center and called the current regime 'Leak Tantra' (Paper leaking system) instead of Lok Tantra (Democracy).
The big announcement to cancel the NTA conducted UGC NET June examination 2024 in view of question paper leak allegations.

In a post, in Hindi, on the micro-blogging site X, Priyanka Gandhi said "The laxity and corruption of the BJP government is fatal for the youth. After the news of scam in NEET exam, now the NET exam to be held on 18th June has also been cancelled due to the fear of irregularities."
"Will accountability be fixed now? Will the education minister take responsibility for this lax system?," she asked.
After a brief meeting, the Ministry of Education decided to cancel the NET examination as it is the second incident of foul play after the NEET 2024 examination.
"The Government is committed to ensure the sanctity of examinations and protect the interest of students. It is reiterated that any individual/organization found to be involved in this matter will face strictest action," the Ministry said in its statement.
It was also decided that Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will now probe the allegations leveled against NEET examination and exam conducting authorities.
On the other side, BJP welcomed the Government's decision. Senior leader Amit Malviya said the "GoI proactively cancels NET exams, held on 18th Jun, after UGC receives reports that the exams were compromised."
