Ugandan National Assaulted and Robbed in South Delhi, Two Arrested
In a distressing incident in South Delhi's Chhattarpur Pahari area, a 27-year-old woman from Uganda was subjected to a brutal attack by two men, resulting in her being robbed and her clothes torn. The Delhi Police reported this harrowing event on Friday, highlighting the vulnerability of foreign nationals in the city.

The victim was discovered on a road, visibly injured, after the police responded to an emergency call late at night. The distress call was made around midnight on Thursday, prompting immediate action from the local law enforcement. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the Ugandan national in a state of distress and injury.
Two individuals, identified as Manoj, 24, and Rinku Kashyap, 26, both employed as labourers, have been apprehended by the police in connection with this violent assault. The arrests shed light on the swift response by the authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice.
According to the victim's account, the ordeal began around 10:45 pm when she was walking near the phool mandi on the 100 Feet Road. She noticed two men following her, accompanied by a dog. In an attempt to evade the dog, she found herself cornered by the men who then proceeded to physically assault her. The attackers not only hit her on the head with a stone but also tore her clothes in a heinous act of violence before fleeing the scene.
The woman further reported that during this assault, her purse was snatched away by the assailants. The stolen items included Rs 800 in cash and a silver ring, adding robbery to the list of offences committed by these individuals.
Further investigations revealed that both suspects are known drug addicts and were under the influence of intoxicants at the time of their arrest. This detail adds another layer of complexity to the case, highlighting issues related to substance abuse and its impact on criminal behavior.
This incident has sparked concerns regarding the safety of foreign nationals in Delhi, prompting discussions on how to enhance security measures for residents and visitors alike. The swift action taken by the Delhi Police in arresting the suspects demonstrates their commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring justice for victims of such violent crimes.
