Uddhav Dares Fadnavis As Maharashtra Heads For Assembly Polls: 'It'll Be Either You Or Me'

In a fiery address at the Rangsharda Auditorium in Mumbai, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray told Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, "In the end, it will either be you or me."

This statement, made while addressing party workers in Bandra, has heightened the political atmosphere in Maharashtra as the state moves towards crucial Assembly elections.

Thackeray's remarks followed allegations by NCP leader Anil Deshmukh that Fadnavis was plotting to imprison Thackeray and his son, Aaditya.

Thackeray accused BJP of a broader strategy aimed at destroying Shiv Sena (UBT), labeling them a "group of thieves."

He also expressed pity for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's current rhetoric and highlighted his own electoral battles, claiming, "I never became a municipal councillor; I directly became the Chief Minister."

Thackeray also drew a parallel to the 'Mahabharata', likening his situation to Arjuna's struggle against his own kin, and acknowledged the pain of betrayal from former allies.

Despite these challenges, he vowed to stand firm, appealing to his supporters: "I am challenging everyone solely on your strength."

In response, BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule asserted, "People of Maharashtra are standing firmly behind Fadnavis. Thackeray tried to stab Fadnavis in the back and also tried to put him in jail. Soon, people of Maharashtra will teach Thackeray a lesson."

Thackeray's speech signals that he is ready to face the upcoming political battles, despite lacking an official party symbol, enough financial resources, or formal recognition.
