Udaipur Rape Case: Undergarments Missing, Crime Recorded on Dashcam, New Details Emerge in Probe

More details have emerged in the rape case involving a female manager of a private IT firm in Udaipur, days after three people, including the company's CEO, were arrested for allegedly assaulting her following a birthday party.

A medical examination has confirmed sexual assault, with doctors noting injuries and pain in the survivor's private parts as well as other areas of her body. Police are now examining digital evidence and witness statements as part of the ongoing investigation.

Survivor's account of the incident

In her police complaint, the survivor stated that after the birthday party organised by the CEO, she was left alone as other guests gradually departed. She alleged that the CEO and the husband of a female employee were already seated in the car when she was offered a lift home.

During the journey, the accused allegedly bought items resembling cigarettes from a shop and offered them to her. According to the complaint, she lost consciousness after consuming the substance and regained awareness only the next morning, when she realised she had been sexually assaulted.

According to an HT report, the survivor said that when she regained consciousness, she found herself being assaulted inside the moving vehicle.

Dashcam footage and missing belongings

After noticing injuries on her body, the survivor checked the car's dashcam, which she alleged had recorded the incident along with a conversation between the accused. She submitted the recordings to the police as part of her complaint.

According to an NDTV report, the dashcam footage has become a crucial piece of evidence in the investigation. The survivor also stated in her complaint that some of her jewellery, socks and undergarments were missing after the incident.

Arrests and investigation

Police said the alleged crime involved the CEO of the IT firm, a female employee of the company, and the employee's husband. All three were arrested on Thursday and produced before a court, which granted police custody for further questioning.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing and that all available evidence, including medical findings and digital recordings, is being examined to determine the sequence of events and the role of each accused.
