U'khand sugar mill booked for discharging effluents in Ganga

Muzaffarnagar (UP), Feb 4: A case has been registered against a sugar mill in Uttarakhand for allegedly discharging effluents in the Ganga river.

Police has yesterday registered a case against Raibahadur Dugar Mill at Laksar in Uttarakhand under various sections of IPC for discharging polluted water in the Ganga river, SHO Pritam Singh said.

On January 27, some devotees taking a holy dip at Shukertal in this district found the water to be polluted. A probe was initiated which found the mill responsible for discharging effluents.
