Two Women Expose Alleged Sex And Forced Conversion Racket In Bhopal; Sisters Arrested

A shocking case has come to light in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal, where two women have accused a group of running an alleged sex and forced religious conversion racket. Police have arrested two sisters in connection with the case, while three other accused are currently on the run.

The case surfaced after two separate complaints revealed similar patterns of exploitation, leading police to investigate a wider network.

How the Case Came to Light

The alleged racket was exposed after a 21-year-old beautician from Chhattisgarh and a 30-year-old woman from Bhopal approached the police with similar allegations. Both women claimed they were lured with promises of jobs and later sexually exploited and pressured to change their religion.

Based on their complaints, police arrested two sisters, identified as Afreen and Amreen. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and efforts are being made to trace other accused persons.

Alleged Modus Operandi of the Gang

According to police, the accused allegedly targeted young women from financially weak backgrounds. They reportedly offered job opportunities, gained their trust and then exploited them.

The 21-year-old beautician told police she began staying with one of the accused in 2025. She alleged that she was later taken to different locations on various pretexts where she was drugged and sexually assaulted by multiple individuals linked to the group.

She further claimed that she was threatened and blackmailed with photographs and videos. The woman also alleged that she was pressured to adopt another religion and forced into situations where she had to interact with unknown men.

After months of alleged exploitation, she managed to escape and returned to her relatives before filing a complaint at Bagsewania police station on February 22.

Second Woman Files Similar Complaint

During the investigation, police found that another woman had lodged a similar complaint earlier. The second survivor, who worked as a domestic help at the accused's house, also alleged that she was drugged and sexually assaulted by members of the same group.

She reportedly provided video evidence to the police to support her claims. The similarity between both complaints helped police identify a possible organised racket.

Police Action and Charges

Police have registered cases against the accused under several sections related to rape, criminal conspiracy and forced religious conversion. The two sisters have been arrested, while three other accused are absconding.

Officials said search operations are underway to locate and arrest the remaining suspects. Statements of witnesses and neighbours are also being recorded as part of the investigation.

Suspicious Activities Noticed Earlier

Neighbours in the upscale residential area where the accused lived told investigators that they had noticed unusual activity at the flat earlier as well. They claimed that several unknown people frequently visited the apartment late at night.
Police said these claims will be verified during the investigation and any relevant evidence will be examined carefully.

Tension in Area, Police Appeal for Calm

The case has triggered protests by some local groups, leading to tension in parts of Bhopal. Police have urged residents to maintain peace and avoid spreading rumours that could disturb communal harmony.
