Two US Nationals Arrested in Bihar While Attempting to Cross into Nepal Without Valid Travel Documents
Two individuals from the United States, including a woman, were detained in Bihar's Madhubani district. They were allegedly attempting to enter Nepal without proper travel documents, according to police on Sunday. The arrested individuals are from California, as stated by a senior official.

The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel from the 48th battalion intercepted the Americans near the Betaunha border outpost. This location falls under the jurisdiction of Jainagar Police Station. They were stopped while trying to leave India for Nepal on Saturday afternoon without valid documents.
Logistical Support and Arrests
Two local residents were also taken into custody for assisting the US nationals during their stay in the Jainagar area near the India-Nepal border. These locals provided logistical support, which facilitated the couple's attempt to cross into Nepal.
The detained US citizens are a married couple. The woman was born in Nepal and later acquired US citizenship after marrying her husband. Both were questioned together by police, SSB, and other relevant agencies, as stated by Jainagar Deputy SP Ankur Kumar.
Ongoing Investigation
A case has been filed against both US nationals, and they have been formally arrested. The two locals who assisted them have also been apprehended. The investigation into this matter is still ongoing, according to Deputy SP Kumar.
