Two suspected SIMI activists held in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh
Raipur, Nov 14: Two suspected activists of banned Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) were held here tonight. The local police were tracking the movement of the two -- Abdul Wahid Khan (54) and Uber Sidhhiqui (35) -- for the past few weeks and arrested them tonight after finding their connection with SIMI, Raipur Superintendent of Police O P Pal said.

Abdul, a resident of Pandri area, is an auto driver, while Sidhhiqui runs a coaching centre in Raja Talab area. "The two are being interrogated for further details," police said. Security has been heightened in the state in view of several national leaders campaigning for the ongoing Assembly polls.
