Two more die of encephalitis in West Bengal

Siliguri (WB), Aug 7: Two more persons died of encephalitis today, taking the toll to 209 in West Bengal since January this year. The two patients died this morning in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital in Siliguri, North Bengal Development Minister Gautam Deb said.

All steps have been taken to contain the spread of the disease. The steps included smooth running of 'Fever Clinics' and conduct of 'MRI Tests' in the hospital, Deb said. Till yesterday, the toll in the state was 207 since January last as per the statement of the West Bengal Health Services Director Biswaranjan Satpathy.
