Two labourers killed at NTPC plant in Bihar
Bhagalpur, Aug 23: Two labourers were killed when a conveyor belt reversed and several tonnes of coal fell on them at the coal handling plant of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) at Kahalgaon in the district.
The incident occurred late last night when maintenance work was being carried out and the conveyor belt of the coal handling plant reversed leading to huge piles of coal falling on the labourers, an NTPC official said today.

The deceased have been identified as Dilip Gupta (32), a resident of Kahalgaon, and Rajiv Bhowmik (22), a resident of Midnapur in West Bengal. NTPC's General Manager (Operations and Maintenance) T Gopal Krishnan confirmed the incident and said the labourers's families would be given compensation, process for which has been initiated by the corporation.
