UP: Two electrocuted in Muharram processions

Lucknow, Oct 12: Two persons were electrocuted and two dozen others injured on Wednesday in separate incidents during Muharram processions in Uttar Pradesh, police said.

The deaths occurred in Deoria and Allahabad districts. The injuries were reported from Allahabad (12), Gorakhpur (six) and Deoria (six).

Soon after the incidents, electricity supply was cut in the areas to prevent any further mishap.

One of the injured in Gorakhpur was said to be in critical condition, the police said.
