Dibrugarh Express Derails In UP's Gonda, 4 Dead, Over 25 Injured; Rescue Ops Underway

At least 4 people have been declared dead and over 25 injured after 10 coaches of the Dibrugarh Express train derailed in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district today.

The train, traveling from Chandigarh, encountered the accident between Jhilahi railway station and Gosai Dihwa.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath swiftly responded by directing district authorities to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured.

In a post on X, his office stated, "Taking cognisance of the train accident in Gonda district, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the district administration officials to reach the spot and expedite the relief work. The Chief Minister has instructed the officials to immediately take the injured to the hospital and provide them proper treatment. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured."

Railway officials and rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene to begin rescue operations. Pankaj Singh, CPRO of North Eastern Railway, reported that a medical van had reached the site and helpline numbers were issued for assistance.
