Police in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, apprehended two men linked to a kidnapping case from Pune. The suspects, Subham Sonwane and Milind Thorat, were captured on the Godan Express train at Jabalpur railway station. Authorities suspect they, along with an accomplice, may have murdered the victim. The operation was based on information from Pune police.

Arrests Made in Pune Kidnapping Case

The duo, both residents of Ahilyanagar in Maharashtra, are accused of abducting Vitthal Polekar. Polekar, aged 65, was a contractor and deputy sarpanch of Donje village in Pune. He was kidnapped two days ago, and his family reported the crime was for a ransom of Rs 2 crore.

Kidnapping Case Details

Another suspect, Yogesh Bhame from Donaje village in Haveli tehsil of Pune, managed to evade capture. The trio is wanted for the alleged kidnapping and suspected murder of Polekar. A case has been registered by Pune Police against them.

Pune police have recovered some body parts near a village close to Panshet dam. DNA tests will determine if these remains belong to Polekar. The investigation continues as authorities piece together the events leading to the crime.

Suspects' Capture and Investigation

The arrested individuals were reportedly planning to escape to Nepal. Their capture involved efforts from both the Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force (RPF). The suspects will be transferred to Pune police for further questioning.

Police have already detained Rohit Bhame in connection with the abduction. Investigators suggest that old enmity might be a motive behind this crime. The investigation aims to uncover more details about the incident and any possible connections between the suspects.

The case highlights the cooperation between different police forces across states in India. It underscores the importance of swift action and coordination in handling such serious crimes.
