New Delhi: Minutes after Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath was named the BJP's chief minister in Uttar Pradesh, Twitter flooded with posts with memes comparing the Hindu hardliner to Hollywood star Vin Diesel. Soon after the announcement, #YogiAdityanath, #DineshSharma, @JaiShreeRam were among the top trends on Twitter.

Named as the next chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, 44-year-old Adityanath, a priest-turned-politician, is known for his provocative speeches and mass following across the state and never shies away from making controversial remarks, be it about Islam or Pakistan.
