Twist in Pratyusha Banerjee death case: Was the actress pregnant?

New Delhi, April 3: A new twist has come into the death case of Pratyusha Banerjee aka 'Anandi' of Balika Vadhu.

A whitish thick fluid has been found in the uterus of the actress which indicates early stage of pregnancy.

According to a report in Mid-day forensic surgeons said,"The deceased had applied sindoor. There was a tattoo on the nape of her neck with the name 'Rahul' and a heart engraved in it. There was a hesitation

cut on her left wrist (about 4-5 months old) made using a sharp weapon (perhaps a blade), indicating that Pratyusha might have attempted suicide in the past."

"The forensic surgeons also found, a whitish thick fluid, in the uterus, which is indicative of an early stage of pregnancy. Police Surgeon Dr SM Patil confirmed this. The fluid has been preserved and sent for histopathology tests, to confirm pregnancy and to rule out infection within the uterus," the daily's report further stated.

Everyone was left shocked after the news of suicide of TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee. After the news broke, the reaction which came from the TV world was that she could not commit suicide as she was a very bold girl.

The "Balika Vadhu" actress was found hanging from a fan in her suburban Goregaon residence on Friday evening by her boyfriend and television actor Rahul Raj Singh. She was taken to hospital but succumbed there later.

Pratyusha's last rites were subsequently carried out at the Oshiwara Crematorium in the presence of her tearful parents, other family members, her friends, actors and co-stars from the television industry.

Rahul was questioned by police on Saturday in an attempt to unravel the probable reasons behind her shocking suicide that left the entertainment industry stunned.

The glamour industry is rife with speculation about her disturbed personal life, her suspected uneasy relationship with Rahul and other aspects that may have prompted her to resort to the extreme step.
