Turkey Provided Pakistan With Army Personnel, More Than 350 Drones During Operation Sindoor: Reports

A shocking report has surfaced regarding India-Pakistan conflict. Two Turkish military operatives were killed during Operation Sindoor, revealing that Turkey not only assisted Islamabad in its conflict against New Delhi by supplying over 350 drones, but also provided personnel, reported India Today.

According to these sources, Turkish advisors aided Pakistani Army officials in coordinating drone strikes against India following Operation Sindoor.

Pakistan is said to have deployed Bayraktar TB2 and YIHA drones against India. These unmanned systems are reportedly being used for target designation and possibly for kamikaze-style attacks, particularly aimed at threatening Indian forward positions and supply convoys.

Turkey's strategic defence cooperation with Pakistan has reportedly accelerated at a concerning pace in recent years.

Take a Poll

The Turkish government has not only delivered vital military hardware but has also facilitated training for Pakistani military personnel.

On the nights of May 7 and 8, the Pakistan Army allegedly launched between 300 and 400 drones targeting Indian military infrastructure along the country's northern and western frontiers.

"Forensic investigation of the wreckage of the drones is being done. Initial reports suggest that they are Turkish Asisguard Songar drones," said Colonel Sofiya Qureshi during a press briefing on Operation Sindoor.

"The Indian armed forces shot down many of these drones using kinetic and non-kinetic means. The possible purpose of such large-scale aerial intrusions was to test air defence systems and collect intelligence," Colonel Qureshi added.

India Reacts

On Wednesday, India restricted access to Turkish news outlet TRT on the social media platform X, citing Ankara's military backing of Islamabad during the recent four-day conflict with New Delhi.

In its briefing on Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army stated that Pakistan had deployed Turkish-manufactured drones to strike military infrastructure at 36 different locations, ranging from Leh to Sir Creek.

Earlier in the day, India also blocked social media accounts belonging to Chinese state-run media organisations - Xinhua and Global Times - for disseminating disinformation and Pakistani propaganda, despite repeated warnings from the Indian Embassy in China.
