‘Tum Kaale Ho’: MP Woman’s Alleged Humiliation Of Husband Before Murder Plot With Lover

A 28-year-old man was found stabbed to death inside his home in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district, with police later uncovering what they described as a murder conspiracy allegedly hatched by his wife and her lover. The case, first presented as a robbery, was solved within 36 hours after investigators flagged inconsistencies in the wife's version of events.

Robbery Claim Raises Suspicion In Dhar Murder Case

The victim, Dev Krishna Purohit, was killed on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday at his residence in Gondikheda Charan village, located around 60 km from the Dhar district headquarters.

Soon after the incident, his wife, Priyanka Purohit, 25, approached police and claimed that unidentified men had broken into the house, attacked her husband with a sharp weapon while keeping her confined in another room, and fled after stealing valuables.

However, police said they began to suspect foul play after finding discrepancies in her statement during the initial probe.

Police Say Wife And Alleged Lover Planned The Killing

Dhar Superintendent of Police Mayank Awasthi said the investigation gradually pointed towards a premeditated murder rather than a robbery.

According to police, Priyanka had been married to Dev Krishna since she was around 15 years old. Investigators said she had allegedly been unwilling to live with him after moving to her matrimonial home, and the relationship had been marked by repeated disputes.

Police further claimed that Priyanka was in a relationship with 32-year-old Kamlesh Purohit, a resident of Rajgarh. Investigators alleged that the two saw Dev Krishna as an obstacle and decided to eliminate him.

As per the police version, they allegedly hired a contract killer named Surendra and agreed to pay him ₹1 lakh to execute the murder.

Family Speaks Of A Troubled Marriage

Family members of the deceased also alleged that the marriage had been under strain for a long time.

Dev Krishna's sister, Jyoti, reportedly accused Priyanka of humiliating her husband over his appearance. She alleged that Priyanka would often tell him, "You are dark-skinned... you don't deserve me... I deserve someone better."

She was also quoted as saying, "Tum kaale ho (You are dark-skinned), you don't deserve me."

These allegations from the family have added another layer to the case, which police say was rooted in long-running domestic discord and an extramarital relationship.

Mobile Data Helped Crack The Case In 36 Hours

Police said technical evidence played a major role in exposing the alleged conspiracy.

Call detail records and other mobile-based inputs reportedly established communication between Priyanka and Kamlesh around the time of the murder, which strengthened suspicion against them.

After sustained questioning, Priyanka allegedly confessed to her role in the plot, according to police.

Following her statement, police arrested both Priyanka and Kamlesh. Authorities are now searching for Surendra, the alleged contract killer, who remains absconding.

The police said the case, which initially appeared to be a robbery gone wrong, ultimately revealed what investigators describe as a carefully planned murder conspiracy inside the victim's own home.
