TTV Dinakaran releases party manifesto
Chennai, March 27: AIADMK Amma faction led by Deputy General Secretary TTV Dinakaran on Monday released its manifesto for the R K Nagar bypoll which, among others, promises setting up of a super-speciality hospital, mobile hospitals and fish markets in the constituency.
At a function held at the AIADMK headquarters here, the first copy of the manifesto was released by senior party leader 'Panruti' Ramachandran. It was received by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami in the presence of Dinakaran, AIADMK Amma candidate for the bypoll in the constituency here, and senior party functionaries.
Listing some features of the manifesto, Dinakaran said, a multi-super speciality hospital at Tondiarpet besides 10 mobile hospitals in R K Nagar constituency would be set up.
"A gymnasium and free training centres for developing soft skills will also be established in the constituency. Job fairs for unemployed youth will be conducted regularly. A new fish market will be set up. We will also continue those projects as announced by Amma (late Jayalalithaa)," Dinakaran told reporters.
To a query on the agitation by state farmers association in New Delhi entering the 14th day today, Chief Minister Palaniswami said a team led by Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker B Thambidurai along with representatives of the farmers association had already met senior Union Ministers including Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over the issue.
"During the interaction with Jaitley, they (the team led by Thambidurai) urged him to look into the demands raised by the farmers association. This government is for the welfare of the farmers," Palaniswami said.
Bypoll to the R K Nagar constituency was necessitated following the death of AIADMK supremo and former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in December 2016.
