Trying To Destroy History: Sanjay Raut After Centre Renames Nehru Memorial Museum
Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) MP Sanjay Raut on Saturday lashed out at the central government for renaming the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library Society and said that BJP -the led centre is trying to destroy history.
The Nehru Memorial Museum and Library Society housed in Teen Murti Bhavan premises have been renamed by the government as Prime Ministers' Museum and Library Society on Friday.

"I agree that the contribution of other PMs should be shown. A section can be made where contributions of other PMs can be displayed but there is no need to change the museum's name," Raut told reporters.
"Pandit Nehru's name could have been retained in the Prime Minister Museum. Pandit Nehru was our first Prime Minister and he had a great contribution. They are trying to destroy history that's all," he added.
On Friday, Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge said that legacies don't get erased by renaming buildings.
"Those who do not have any history, they have gone to erase the history of others. The ill-fated attempt to change the name of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library cannot belittle the personality of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the architect of modern India and fearless guardian of democracy," Kharge tweeted.
Amid a row over the renaming of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) Society, BJP MP Neeraj Shekhar - the son of former PM Chandra Shekhar thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for 'honouring all prime ministers,' and slammed the Congress for 'never looking beyond one dynasty.'
"My father, former PM Chandra Shekhar Ji always worked for the national interest. He even worked with Congress but they NEVER looked beyond one dynasty. Now, when PM Narendra Modi honoured Prime Ministers across party lines, Cong is getting agitated. Horrible attitude," Shekhar tweeted.
"I want to ask all Congress leaders- how many times have they even been to the PM Museum? Has either Sonia Ji or Rahul Ji ever been there? Their inability to accept the fact that people beyond one dynasty have built our nation is perverted and deserves unequivocal condemnation," he asked.
"Forget honouring Prime Ministers, Congress and their royal dynasty have insulted Prime Ministers who do not belong to their dynasty. The treatment towards Narasimha Rao Ji will go down as one of the most shameful chapters of our political history," he said.
"In the PM Museum, every PM irrespective of party lines has got dignity and respect, their contribution has been highlighted. This shows PM Modi's statesmanship," he concluded.
