Truck kills 5 in Bengal
Kolkata, Feb 28: Five people were killed when a speeding truck rammed into several shops in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district, police said on Sunday.
Three others were critically injured in the accident that happened on Basanti highway near Bhangar on Saturday night. "The truck driver is absconding," said a police officer.

Locals blamed the police for the accident.
"Though the area is accident prone, police never bother to control traffic here. There is hardly any traffic police presence. Even when they are present, they don't control the traffic," said a witness.
