Trouble Brews For Mahua Moitra: 'Jilted Ex' Writes To CJI Amidst Allegations Of Pressure
As the Winter Session of Parliament nears, the spotlight is on the fate of Mahua Moitra. According to News18 report, the ethics committee's recommendation for Moitra's disqualification as an MP, along with inquiries into alleged breaches of national security by sharing her Parliament account log-in, has been submitted to the Speaker.
Citing sources, News18 stated that the Speaker is inclined to follow the committee's advice promptly without delay. However, there might be additional complications ahead.

According to sources quoted by News18, Moitra's former close associate, Jai Anant Dehadrai, now referred to as a "jilted ex," has written to the Chief Justice of India. He raised concerns about advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan allegedly pressuring him to retract the complaint against the Trinamool Congress leader. Sankaranarayanan was Moitra's legal representative in the defamation case she filed against Dehadrai, accusing him of damaging her reputation.
During a court session, Dehadrai claimed that Sankaranarayanan should be disqualified from the case due to their prior discussions on the matter. Sankaranarayanan clarified that, with Dehadrai's prior briefing, he had initiated contact with consent to explore a possible settlement. However, due to the recent objection, he chose to withdraw from the case.
However, News18 sources suggest that the complaint to the CJI alleges that Sankaranarayanan not only pressured Dehadrai to retract the complaints against Moitra but also invoked the CJI's name in the process.
Meanwhile, individuals close to Sankaranarayanan strongly refuted any allegations of coercion, asserting that it's standard practice to seek amicable resolutions.
The public dispute between Supreme Court lawyer Dehadrai and Moitra made headlines recently, revolving around their disagreement over the custody of their three-year-old Rottweiler named Henry, presently with Moitra.
The situation escalated when BJP MP Nishikant Dubey claimed to have received a letter from Dehadrai, asserting that the lawyer possessed "undeniable" proof indicating Moitra received bribes in the form of "cash" and "gifts" from business magnate Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for posing questions in Parliament.
