Tripura police bust inter-state gang of robbers

Agartala, Sep 10: An inter-state gang of robbers was busted with the arrest of six people, who are residents of West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district, police said here on Thursday.

Around Rs 5 lakh and nine mobile phones were seized from those arrested, aged between 30 and 50 years.

"After some incidents of money-snatching in front of some banks here, police laid traps in and around some bank premises in Agartala and western Tripura's Teliamura and arrested the six people late Wednesday," deputy inspector general Uttam Majumder told reporters.

Senior police officials were interrogating the accused and collecting information on them from the West Bengal Police.
