Santanu Bhowmik, 27, was attacked with sharp cutting weapons while covering a road blockade agitation of the IPFT, which is demanding a separate tribal State called Tipraland.
Father of slain journalist Santanu Bhowmik from Tripura demanded a CBI probe into the death of his son.

Tripura government earlier constituted a five-member SIT to probe the murder of Santanu Bhowmik.
On September 20, Santanu Bhowmik, 27, who worked with a local television channel, was attacked with sharp cutting weapons while covering a road blockade agitation of the IPFT, which is demanding a separate tribal State called Tipraland.
Killing of Tripura journalist Santanu Bhowmick was however condemned by media collectives, including the Editors Guild of India, saying it was a "reckless" and "inhuman" act to silence the voice of the free press.
A large number of journalists from all segments of media gathered at the hospital to demand the immediate arrest of the murderers.
