Triple talaq is persecution of women, unislamic, says UP minister Mohsin Raza
The lone Muslim minister in Yogi Adityanath's cabinet, Mohsin Raza came down heavily on the Muslim Personal Law board over the issue of Triple Talaq. Deeming the board unconstitutional, Raza said that the board was not part of Shariat and triple talaq was not allowed by Islam.

"It should be called Maulvi Personal Law board instead. It is not part of Shariat. There should be a law to ban the outfit and ensure that women excersie their rights," Mohsin Raza said. Ahead of the third cabinet meet of the Yogi government scheduled on Tuesday, Raza expressed his thoughts on triple talaq.
"Such organisations which do not work for the public holistically should be banned. They are agianst the constitution. I consider triple talaq as persecution of women and Islam doesnt allow such practices," he said. The Uttar Pradesh minister for Wakf and Haj is also the minister for Science, technology and IT portfolios. His statements on triple talaq comes a day after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath likened the practice to 'disrobing of Draupadi' from the epic, Mahabharata.
