Trinamool Congress rules out post-poll tie-up with BJP

"There is no question of any tie-up with BJP before or after the Lok Sabha poll," Trinamool Congress general secretary Mukul Roy told PTI here. Earlier, to a question at a media briefing during the day, he said that there was no question of Trinamool Congress going soft on BJP Prime Ministerial nominee Narendra Modi.
There is no question of going soft on Narendra Modi, the Trinamool said.
"Our fight is against corruption of Congress-led UPA government and communalism of BJP. We have consistent stance against communalism. Our leader Mamata Banerjee has repeatedly said including at the Brigade Parade Ground rally on January 30 that we do not want the face of riots," he said.
Varun Gandhi not to campaign in Rahul Gandhi's constituency
BJP leader Varun Gandhi on Saturday said he would not campaign for his party candidate in cousin Rahul Gandhi's Lok Sabha constituency Amethi.
"In every sphere of life, courtesy is most essential," Varun said ruling out the possibility of his seeking votes for his party nominee in the nearby constituency. Maintaining that he gave "special importance to relations", Varun told reporters that he did not nurture negative feelings towards candidates of rival political parties.
Varun, an MP from Pilibhit, will contest from the Sultanpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh and has been campaigning here for the past few days. His father Sanjay Gandhi had started his political career in 1970s from Sultanpur and won his first election from Amethi, which was a part a of the district at that time.
