Trains on Konkan Rail route affected

Panaji, Sep 6: Several trains on Konkan Railway route between Margao in Goa and Mangalore in Karnataka were short terminated or cancelled today after two wagons of a goods train derailed, officials said.

"Two wagons of goods train had derailed between Ankola and Gokarna in Karnataka at 4.05 PM. Following the mishap, Mangalore-Madgaon DEMU train was short terminated at Udupi, Margao-Mangalore Passenger is being terminated at Karwar.

The Margao-Mangalore intercity train was cancelled," officials from Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) said. The Mangalore Junction-Mumbai CSTM Express train has been rescheduled, they added.
