New Delhi, Aug 4: It is not only students sometimes teaching the teachers could really prove to be not only fruitful but also very productive. A simple move to train teachers have really made its impact with result improving from 53 per cent to 76 per cent of the Municipal Corporations Schools in Delhi which the government plans to replicate in a bigger spectrum.
The training programme was provided by the National Accreditation Board for Education and Training - an institution of the ministry of commerce.
Actually Union Human Resource Development ministry has declared a learning outcome for student. As per this learning outcome, students are supposed to know certain thing before they are promoted to higher classes and there is a national average and state average for it. So considering results of students, the behavior, involvement, content, commitment, style and teaching style, teachers from 52 government schools was analyzed by the accreditation agency of the government to begin with.
National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET) CEO Manish Kumar Jindal told OneIndia that training provided to teachers by us made drastic improvement. If students are put into four categories, there was big improvement in the fourth category and a big number of them have made it to third category and so has been the change with third category to make it to second category in big number however from second category to first category not much movement was noticed.
Jindal said that pedagogical approach of NABET has helped a lot. Anywhere teaching curriculum remains the same, learning method too remains static so there is only scope to improve is the methodology of teaching and that will make the difference. If teachers are properly trained and guided not only performance of the student will go up but number of drop outs will also be reduced.
