Train Cancellations In Jammu Division: Northern Railways Shares Complete List After Floods

Rail traffic in the Jammu Division has been severely affected after soil erosion and flash floods in the Chakki River disrupted several key routes. Northern Railways on Tuesday released a detailed list of train cancellations, diversions, and short-terminations as operations continue to be hampered in the region.

According to officials, a total of 44 trains have been cancelled, while six have been partially restored and seven fully restored. At the same time, three trains have been diverted, 16 short-originating, and 28 short-terminated, leaving thousands of passengers stranded.

Full List of Affected Trains

Among the cancelled services are the 54622 Pathankot - Jalandhar City Passenger (26.08.2025), 12265 Delhi Sarai Rohilla - Jammu Tawi (26.08.2025), 12425 New Delhi - Jammu Tawi (26.08.2025), 14610 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - Yog Nagari Rishikesh (26.08.2025), and 12446 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - New Delhi (26.08.2025). Several long-distance trains including the 12920 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - Bandra Terminus (27.08.2025) and 11450 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - Jabalpur (27.08.2025) have also been called off.

Trains partially restored include the 15656 Jammu Tawi - Kamakhya (27.08.2025), 18102 Jammu Tawi - Sambalpur Jn (27.08.2025), 12920 Jammu Tawi - Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (27.08.2025), 12238 Jammu Tawi - Varanasi (27.08.2025), 12472 Jammu Tawi - Bandra Terminus (27.08.2025), and 05194 Jammu Tawi - Chhapra (27.08.2025).

Meanwhile, seven trains such as the 12470 Jammu Tawi - Kanpur Central, 12414 Jammu Tawi - Ajmer Jn, and 11078 Jammu Tawi - Pune Jn have resumed full operations.

Three major trains - the 22478 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - New Delhi Vande Bharat Express (26.08.2025), 19224 Jammu Tawi - Sabarmati BG (26.08.2025), and 12920 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (26.08.2025) - are being diverted to alternate routes.

In addition, several trains have been either short-terminated or short-originating due to blockages along the affected sections. For example, the 12413 Ajmer Jn - Jammu Tawi (26.08.2025) was terminated at Delhi Jn, while the 12414 Jammu Tawi - Ajmer Jn (26.08.2025) originated from Delhi Jn. Similarly, the 22941 Indore - Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan (25.08.2025) was terminated at Jalandhar Cantt, with its return service, 22942 Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan - Indore (27.08.2025), starting from the same station.

Advisory for Passengers

Northern Railways has advised passengers to check the current status of their trains on official portals and helplines before beginning their journeys. Officials said restoration work is ongoing, but normal services may take more time to resume given the extent of flood damage in the region.
