Tragic Outcome of Wedding Celebration in Rajasthan: One Killed, Another Injured

A tragic incident unfolded at a wedding procession in Sinta village, where a 22-year-old man, Aman Singh Rajput, was fatally stabbed, and another, Ganesh Rathod alias Arvind, aged 20, sustained injuries during a scuffle between two groups of friends. The altercation occurred on Wednesday night under the jurisdiction of the Keshorai Patan police station, according to the Station House Officer (SHO) Babulal Meena.

The dispute began at midnight over dancing at their friend Sachin's wedding procession. It escalated when Kumbhraj Meghwal and Kamal Kevat from the opposing group drew a knife, leading to Rajput's death and Rathod's injury. Both victims were promptly taken to MBS Hospital in Kota; however, Rajput succumbed to his injuries early Thursday morning. Rathod is currently receiving medical care at the hospital.

In response to the incident, the police have lodged a case of murder and attempt to murder against Meghwal of Sinta village and Kevat of Balita area. The charges include sections 302 and 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with additional sections 323, 341, and 34 for their involvement in the altercation. The accused were arrested in Kota on Thursday following their identification and initial interrogation.

Bundi Superintendent of Police (SP) Hanuman Prasad confirmed the arrests and stated that further investigation is ongoing to uncover more details about the tragic event. The victim's body was returned to his family on Thursday morning after a post-mortem examination, as informed by SHO Meena.

This unfortunate event has cast a shadow over what was supposed to be a joyous occasion, highlighting the potential for violence in social gatherings. The local authorities are continuing their investigation to ensure justice for the victims and their families.
