Tragic Crash on Delhi–Mumbai Expressway: XUV700 Falls Into Gorge, Five Dead

A tragic accident unfolded on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway early Friday morning. Around 7 am, a vehicle with registration number MHO3 EL 1388 veered off course near Bhimpura village. The car was en route from Delhi to Gujarat when the driver seemingly lost control. This led to the vehicle crashing through the expressway's railing and plummeting into a ditch.

The impact of the crash was severe, causing significant damage to the vehicle. The front and roof were torn apart, and debris like parts of the bumper and number plate were scattered away from the site. CCTV footage captured the moment when the speeding XUV700 went off-road before falling into a ditch near the Mahi river.

Victims Identified

Five individuals lost their lives in this unfortunate incident, including a 15-year-old boy and a 60-year-old man. The victims were identified as residents of Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Among them were Ghulam Rasool, aged 70, from Kurla, Mumbai; Khalis from Vadodara; Abdul Ghulam from Kurla, Mumbai; Danish, aged 15, also from Kurla; and Durgesh Prasad, aged 35.

Local villagers played a crucial role by assisting police in recovering the bodies from the wreckage. The remains have been transported to Dr. Lakshmi Narayan Pandey Government Medical College in Ratlam for post-mortem examinations. These will be conducted once family members of the deceased arrive.

Investigation Underway

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine what caused this devastating crash. Initial reports suggest that loss of control might have been a factor, but further details are awaited as inquiries continue.
