The victims, identified as Vivek, Amit, and a third person whose name has yet to be disclosed, were en route from Gurugram to Bareilly with the intention of attending a wedding. The absence of any warning signs or barricades led them onto a path that abruptly ended, causing the tragic fall.

The aftermath of the crash was not discovered until the following morning when locals noticed the car's wreckage in the shallow part of the river. Upon being informed, police teams were dispatched to the scene. "At around 9:30 am, we were informed about a damaged car found in the Ramganga river," a police spokesperson revealed. It was soon determined that the vehicle, a Wagon R believed to be a taxi, had fallen from the yet-to-be-completed bridge. Efforts to recover the bodies and identify the victims ensued, with two of the deceased being named as Vivek and Amit. The search to confirm the identity of the third victim continues.
