Traffic restored on Jammu-Srinagar highway
Jammu, Sep 24: The Jammu-Srinagar highway was on Thursday opened for traffic after being shut for two days due to landslides, an official said.
"The Jammu-Srinagar highway has been restored for traffic today (Thursday).

It remained closed for two days due to landslides triggered by incessant rains," an official told IANS here.
The over 300-Kilometre long road is the lifeline of supplies for the landlocked Kashmir Valley.
Whenever the highway gets closed due to snowfall or heavy rains, prices of essential commodities shoot up as traders resort to hoarding and profiteering.
