AAP Continues To Protest Against Kejriwal's Arrest, Will Encircle PM House Today; Check Traffic Advisory

In view of the Aam Admi Party (AAP)'s announcement to protest and en-circle Prime Minister's residence against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvid Kejriwal, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for commuters to avoid roads leading to Tughlak Road, Safdarjung Road, and Kemal Ataturk Marg. Traffic Police has also directed people not to park their vehicles near these areas, or else strict action will be taken.

Traffic advisory from Delhi police reads: "To ensure smooth traffic management in New Delhi area, no vehicle will be allowed to halt or park anywhere on Tughlak Road, Safdarjung Road and Kemal Ataturk Marg, general entry for public will not be allowed, and vehicles found parked on the above roads shall be towed away and prosecuted for improper parking and disobedience of lawful instructions."

AAP Continues To Protest Against CM Kejriwal s Arrest On Delhi Streets

Following special security arrangements, some roads will be blocked and traffic will be diverted from Aurobindo Chowk, Tughlak Road, Samrat Hotel roundabout, Gymkhana Post Office roundabout, Teen Murti Haifa roundabout, Niti Marg roundabout, and Kautilya Marg roundabout.

Delhi traffic police has also requested to avoid routes like Kemal Ataturk Marg, Safdarjung Road, Akbar Road, and Teen Murti Marg as heavy traffic is expected today on these routes.

Delhi Metro also closed Patel Chowk Metro station following security reasons.

The announcement for today's protest was made public by AAP Delhi chief and Cabinet Minister Gopal Rai, who called the Enforcement Directorate (ED)'s action a conspiracy done by BJP so that the popular Delhi CM could not campaign for the INDIA bloc. He also informed that party workers will Gherao (Encircle) prime minister's residence to register their protest.

He also alleged that police stopped party leaders from meeting the family members of Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently in Enforcement Directorate's custody in relation to money laundering in now scrapped Delhi Liquor Policy.

"Workers and leaders were detained throughout the day. The whole country is sad and angered by Kejriwal's arrest. At 10 am on Saturday, all AAP MLAs, councilors, office-bearers, INDIA bloc of representatives took a pledge to save democracy. They gathered at the Shaheedi Park on Saturday, the martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev," the Delhi minister said.
