Total viewership of DD channels across India 596 million: Govt

New Delhi, Dec 4: The government today said that as per Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) data of the last six weeks, total viewership of Doordarshan channels across India is 596 million.

This was stated by Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley in a written reply in Lok Sabha.

"As per BARC data of last 6 weeks (41 to 46 weeks) (after inclusion of rural markets), total viewership of DD channels across all India is 596 million," he said.

He said DD National with 354 million leads among all Doordarshan channels followed by DD Punjabi in second position with 99 million and DD News which is third with 21 million viewership.
