TN Govt announces Rs 5 crore aid for Nepal quake victims
Chennai, Apr 28: Tamil Nadu government today announced a relief of Rs five crore to the quake-ravaged Nepal.
"The government of Tamil Nadu will provide relief assistance of Rs five crore to the government of Nepal as a gesture of support in their hour of need," an official release here said.

The severe earthquake had caused extensive loss of life and property and untold suffering both for the residents of Nepal and bordering areas in Bihar and West Bengal states, it added.
An earthquake of the magnitude 7.9 richter scale hit Nepal, with its epicenter at Pokhara, killing 4,800 people and injuring over 9,200 people. While rescue operations are still going on, hopes dim for further survivors. The earthquake hit the state after a span of 83 years.
