TN floor test: School kids pray for Palanisamy’s victory to establish Amma’s rule

A group of students in Tamil Nadu expressed their support for newly-appointed Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy.

Chennai, Feb 18: In a rare case of public support shown to the newly-appointed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy, a group of school-going students gathered outside a resort in the state to pray for the incumbent CM's victory in the TN assembly floor test on Saturday.

"We pray for EPS, hope he sails through the floor test and establishes Amma's rule in the state," one of the students supporting Palanisamy told ANI.

School Students

Earlier, ANI reported that school students had gathered outside Golden Bay resort in Kuvathur in support of Palanisamy, who faces floor test on Saturday.

The ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in the state is currently fighting an internal battle of supremacy as the party is divided into two camps. The results of the internal war will be decided in the floor test in the TN assembly on Saturday. Both the camps--one lead by Palanisamy and the second by former CM O Panneerselvam--are confident of victory.

Till now, the voters of TN are maintaining a wait and watch policy as the state is facing a political crisis. Unlike during the Jallikattu stir where public at large protested against the ban on bull-taming sport, this time the people of the state have decided to remain silent in the matter. So, it is strange to see a bunch of young girls coming out in support of Palanisamy.
