Floor test

The DMK approached the high court after the governor refused to intervene and advised DMK leader M K Stalin to go to court if he had any qualms about the conduct of the trust vote. DMK, as well as former chief minister O Panneerselvam's camp, had deemed the process undemocratic and unfair. In its petition, the DMK has reiterated that the results of the floor test would have been different had there been a secret ballot and despite fervent pleas by the opposition, the speaker refused to allow a secret ballot.
