TN Congress Serves Notice To Karti Chidambaram For Saying PM Modi Is More Popular Than Rahul
The Tamil Nadu Congress has issued a show cause notice to Karti Chidambaram for saying Prime Minister Narendra Modi is more popular than Rahul Gandhi, NDTV reported.
Son of senior Congress leader and former union minister Chidambaram, Karti made those claims in a Tamil television interview.

In the interview with Thanthi TV, Karti affirmed his trust in electronic voting machines (EVMs) as the Congress party has different views from the Election Commission on the issue. The show-cause notice, issued by former MLA KR Ramaswamy, requires Karti Chidambaram to submit a response within 10 days.
On Monday, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said the Election Commission has yet again failed to provide a "substantive response" to INDIA parties' genuine concerns over EVMs and asserted that instead, the poll watchdog has been repeatedly directing them to "generic FAQS" as the answer book for all queries.
"I had made an express request for an appointment for the INDIA parties' leaders with the Hon'ble Commission. I had even specified the agenda for the appointment discussion and suggestions on the usage of VVPATs for the upcoming elections," the Congress leader said in his letter dated January 7.
"The Election Commission's response, while completely brushing aside our request for an appointment, has yet again failed to provide a substantive response to our queries and genuine concerns over EVMs. Instead, the Commission has been repeatedly directing us to generic ECI FAQs as the answer book for all queries in respect of EVMs and VVPATS," Ramesh said.
However, Karti Chidambaram's deviation from the party's official stance appears to have prompted internal scrutiny. However, sources have told the channel that only the AICC has to the power to issue a notice to an MP.
It might be an attempt by an attempt to prevent him from taking over as the Tamil Nadu Congress Chief. This development indicates that internal issues within the Tamil Nadu Congress.
