Kolkata, Feb 27: In a surprising turn of events, TMC and Mamata Loyalist Mukul Roy has been removed from the post of TMC Parliamentary Parthy Chairman. He was later found meeting BJP's Arun Jaitley and Rajnath Singh, giving rise to speculations that he may be planning to join the BJP. However, TMC working committee meeting is scheduled to take place tomorrow, where the final decision will be taken.

The distance between Mukul Roy and the party leaders was evident he attended the Parliament, but did not stay back to listen to the speeches of any of the party members. The party members too seemed to ignore his presence. Although he took the front seat as the party's leader in the Rajya Sabha, he clearly did not have any say in the Parliamentarian discussions. Eventually, he is rumored to have landed up with a designation, but no function.

Evidently, the TMC set up a 8-member steering committee to decide the parliamentary strategy and Roy wasn't mentioned in the list.

Dubbing the rumors of Roy being clipped to give way for Mamata Banerjee's nephew as false, party leaders said,"here were increasing complaints from people that they could not reach Mamatadi (because of Roy). I cannot talk about his future plans but the party has put in place a command structure without him. If Roy does indeed quit, we do not expect more than a handful of MLAs to follow him."

Meanwhile, Roy's meeting with BJP's Arun Jaitley and Rajnath Singh fans the idea that he may indeed quit TMC to join the BJP.
